Key Issues
We Have Regional Challenges To Our Water Supply:
We need to address the impact of a drought to our region.
We need to develop water storage facilities.
We need to develop sources of alternative water supplies.
We need to increase water education outreach programs.
We need to agressively promote water recycling and conservation programs for municipal and industrial use.
The water district needs to introduce a water utility audit program district-wide.
We need to address the infrastructure needs and system reliability of our cities.
To Meet Those Challenges I Will:
- Increase efficiency and reduce cost by contracting out specific services that can be done by service providers.
- Team up with other regional water agencies to share expertise and resources.
- Work collaboratively with local officials in seeking state and federal monies for infrastructure and system reliability needs.
- Develop a water education outreach program and work with metropolitan water district to leverage our resources.
- Ensure that the workings of the board and district are trasparent to the communities that we serve.
- Encourage feedback and provide timely communication to our residents through better use of technology and the web.
- Expand our recycling and conservation efforts throughout the district.
- Continue to demand fiscal responsibility so that are tax dollars are prudently spent.
- Work to make sure that our water is safe, reliable and cost efficient.
